Enhancing the professional development of female Scientists
The Women in Entomology Organization began as a discussion group between faculty, post docs, and graduate students regarding the statistics surrounding women in STEM fields. AWE is comprised of women from various countries, ethnicities, cultures, and scientific disciplines.
WHat does awe offer?
As a newly founded organization created to enhance the educational and professional community for women in STEM fields we want to entice women to join our opportunities in:
- Monthly meetings to discuss relevant issues
- Invited seminar speakers to represent our organization
- Mentorship programs to serve undergraduate students
- Engaging in a community of entomologists and scientists with collaborations with other TAMU women organizations
The Women in Entomology Organization strives to help women in STEM fields develop strong leadership skills through professional development, etc..., and enriching the educational experience.
Mentors in the organization come from a variety of cultural, experiential, and scientific backgrounds to guide and advise women through the advancement of their career path.
We strive to produce excellence in science and research in highly collaborative environments. We give recognition and support to women actively conducting research in entomology and related fields
